スタンバーグとディートリッヒのコンビが送るラヴ・ロマンス。ただの「恋愛映画」として終わらなかったのは、言うまでも無くディートリッヒの存在ゆえであろう。彼女の歌声がこの映画に更に華を添えた。この作品で一気にスターダムへと駆け上がったディートリッヒは不動の人気を得る。画面の中のディートリッヒはシーン毎、完璧に「女優」であり、「映画」であった。日本で初めて日本語字幕が付けられた作品としても知られ、当時の女性達に夢と憧れを抱かせた。
Adapted from the novel "Amy Jolly" by Benno Vigny. This film is directed by Josef von Steinberg and stars Marlene Dietrich. Her charismatic portrayal made the film more than just an ordinary love romance story."Morocco" was the first film in history to be subtitled in Japanese. In 1992, it was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being 'culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant'.

Floating clouds is an outstanding work of Mikio Naruse,a world famous Japanese director on par with Yasujiro Ozu and Kenji Mizoguchi. " A flower's life is short, and there are only a lot of pain" as the author Fumiko Hayashi wrote, the film deals with a woman and a man who become entangled in a passionate, whirlwind romance in the decadent Post-World War II era. 1940年代、パリがドイツ軍によって侵攻され、フランスが親独政権下に置かれていた当時のフランス保護領であったモロッコを舞台にした物語。ハリウッド映画ということもあり、米国の視点によるドイツへの批判的な演出が成されている。アカデミー賞をいくつか受賞したほか、2002年に米国映画協会の発表した「恋愛映画ベスト100」の1位に選ばれた。劇中の「君の瞳に乾杯」という名台詞はあまりにも有名。
The film is set in 1940s, when Morocco was still a protectorate of France, which wasunder pro-German government after Paris was invaded by the Germans. It is said tohave been made as propaganda by Hollywood, and expresses critical views towards Germany at that time. Won three Academy Awards and also the first rank in 'American Film Institute's 100 years... 100 Passions' in 2002

The film was made by Claude Lelouch when he was 29. It is well-known for its beautiful cinematography along with scarce dialogue and impressive music. His improvised direction left a huge influence on the other directors.Won Grand Prix at Cannes Film Festival along with "Signore & Signori" in 1966
